I mean, the Architect has designed and planned the unit on paper and will be supervising the whole contruction till completion. in other words, a contractor will be asked to get the civil work done??? please advice.
Review the executed contract with the architect to verify Construction Administration/Observation is included in his fees. The architect will only observe and not supervise on the project site. He may make recommendation and answer questions from the Contractor (RFI- Request for Information) and approve Change Orders and Payment Applications. It should be clearly written in his scope of work. As for the "Civil work", it depends on what your definition of "Civil work" is. If you are referring to site excavation, then the contractor should be responsible provided the earth work is within the scope of the overall project. If you are referring to the design of Grading and Drainage (which also includes a flood report) or Soil investigation report, then it falls into the scope of a Civil Engineer which will not be included in the scope of either the architect nor contractor. Read your contractual agreement with the architect and contractor carefully, it will tell you specifically what they are and aren’t responsible for.
What are the current charges of an Architect who has designed [planned] our residential home to be built now?
what is the best design for a bridge building competition?
Can someone send me a layout of the best design possible for a brige building competition? It needs to be a small and hold at least 90 kgs.
I would say it should be small and hold at least 90 kgs.
I’d suggest something based on a Roman Keystone arch since it has to be small.
what is the most popular house design/architect program for your computer?
and is it easy??? can u just open it and immediately start designing the idea u want or do u have to read many instructions on how to do it on the computer and press many buttons and things?
AutoCAD. This program is great. It also has gotten a lot better over the years. You dont have to get so many windows deep.
What are some possible future career options?
Hi! I am a sophomore in college and trying to find a future career that will be a good fit for me. I am interested in architecture and the history and ideas behind works of architecture, but I can’t see myself working in an architectural firm. I love to travel, enjoy photography, and am genuinely interested in people. Is there any career or job out there in which I could combine all of those interests? Thanks!
Google it!
3D HOME DESIGN?? What is the best afordable or free home design software out there?
I have looked at programes like Archicad, Sketchup and Plan3D, but I want to know if the are any other better ones out there.
I need to find a programe that gives you lots of choices in Interior design and Architecture.
I want to build a replica of a very old house in 3D but I need the right programe.
have you tried blender 3d? it’s for free, the best free 3d software out there, it’s really good, it also has many other features besides tools for architecture, you could probably, if you want, make the house on fire or smoke out of the chimney thanks to the particle generator. It’s not solely for architectural purposes, but you can create the best 3d houses for free.
Architectural drafting/drawing floor plans?
Is there anywhere online that explains architectural drafting or how to draw floor plans? (Manual, not CAD)
If anyone knows, are there certain ways to draw things when you’re doing floorplans? Are there right and wrong ways to draft a building? Any general information to get me started would be great.
Not building these things; this isn’t a formal thing. So, I don’t need an architect to do this for me.
I know I can’t build them and that was not my intent, but is it wrong to want to foster an interest in something? Should architecture be locked away only for those who have degrees inengineering architecture?

You can draw some of your ideas, like where do you want your kitchen or living room but to do correct and good plan you have to study. It is allot of rules to learn other ways it will collapse and kill people.
Architecture vs Architectural Engineering?
i want to break into architecture but i allready have almost 3 years of engineering under my belt. So the option of architectural engineering is there. im wondering what the differences in career opportunities are between the two.
I don’t know where you are, so I can’t speak to the local market, but generally the architecture business is slow right now. There are more jobs for AIA architects, but generally you need eight years experience to even apply for an AIA.
If you are into engineering, then architechtural engineering can be the thing that sets you apart. Most firms are going to need at least one. More often, they hire a structural (civil) engineer, but I’m sure they would rather have someone who was a hybrid of the two.
Good luck!
What type of school should I study interior design at?
When desiring a degree in an art based career is it better to go to an art school/career school or is going to a regular university sufficient enough? I want to study interior design, but art schools are sooooo expensive. So I’m wondering if it would be fine just going to a traditional university that offers interior design? Please help. Thank you.
i am at a traditional school now and i am going transfer to a art school next year… i am going to the art institute of atlanta… most of the time you can get a alot of financial help from a art school, some of them will help you find a part time job to help you pay for school…. i think you should just apply to both a traditional school and a art school.. and see which one you can get the most financial help from… do you plan on filling out the fafsa papers? and are you a senior in high school?

Wondering about entry-level to mid-level jobs found in architectural/interior design firms?
Hello.
Just wondering …
What sorts of entry-level to mid-level jobs can be found in architectural and/or interior design firms?
I’m not interested in the top spot (being the actual architect and/or interior designer), and I’m not interested in the lower spots (being, say, the intern, the gofer, or I dunno, the receptionist).
I think that it would be awesome to work in an architectural/interior design firm environment. It would be nice to be able to contribute to projects in a meaningful way by being trained and skilled enough to do so. I just need to determine what sorts of job positions exist outside of the ones I already mentioned so I can have something to aim for and go to school for.
Any and all help I would greatly appreciate!
Thanks!

i would like to subscribe to an architecture magazine that doesn’t cost more than $15 per issue. friends have recommended the architectural review. is it a good journal? do you have any other suggestions?
btw: i am still a student in my first year, so the magazine shouldn’t be too technical.
