Hi, in Mumbai there are many firms which if you are good at your work would surely employ you. Finding a job is easier in Mumbai then getting a place to stay. First work on that. Delhi is avoidable.
You can get names & tel nos from web or from Rachna Sansad at Prabhadevi.

what is the difference of Architectural Engineering and architecture?

Posted by admin on March 5th, 2010 and filed under architectural | 1 Comment »

I dont know which is the best to take up in college. is architecture the same as Architectural Engineering but just alot more to it? If you can give me a list of what both of them does.

The answer is what (each) of them does. That depends upon the company and its job requirements. They are similar as you may surmise from the titles. Get the college information on exactly what courses are core to each major. Architecture covers a lot of topics and most architects I worked with in heavy industrial companies were more focused on application rather than aesthetics. However the field changes depending upon the demand for architects. Some good architects are very busy with remodeling and renovation of existing structures. Others do only homes and I know some who specialize in things like hospitals which are rather specialized fields and the training will be more when you get the job and learn how the architectural firm works. So the college will have its own ideas on what you need to learn and what other classes are available. But your college record will tell a future employer whether you have had the necessary education for the jobs they have available. In many cases either major will satisfy the job requirements.

Need some help deciding on bat house design?

Okay, I am trying to build a bathouse. The design I am using has it to call for 2X6’s for the back. I have been searching other designs and they just use plywood as the back. Does it really matter on which one to use. My main concern is hanging the one design I am using. Does it really matter?

Bats like something to grip on to. Fencing material is very good, which would be 2 x 8, more than likely. Be sure to layer it so that each "unit" extends downward from the outside one by 1.5 inches or so, so the bats can land there and crawl up. If you intend to suspend it from a high perch, make sure it is not too heavy to handle. Board spacing should not all be the same. Some spaces 1/2 inch, some 3/4. They are messy devils, so put it somewhere with ease of cleaning up the guano. Also, they tend to squirt just before they land, so not near a window.

I see no problem in using plywood, except it does not weather well.

Should I double major in architecture and architectural engineering or what?

I’m going to college next year, and I really want to consider my major now. I love both math and art, and I figure since architectural engineering is the math side and architecture is the art side, it would be good to do a double major, but I’m afraid it would be too tough. I’m also considering a major or minor in environmental engineering so that I can design "green" buildings. What would be the best choice?

Major in just Architecture Engineering! " Architecture Engineering covers borth "architecture" and "engineering" so you get the best of both worlds. Dont minor in Environmental Engineering because it has nothing to do with green design instead its more of Environmental issues study. Minor in something you feel will go in hand with your Architecture Engineering major!!
Good Luck!!
