Wondering about entry-level to mid-level jobs found in architectural/interior design firms?

Hello.

Just wondering …

What sorts of entry-level to mid-level jobs can be found in architectural and/or interior design firms?

I’m not interested in the top spot (being the actual architect and/or interior designer), and I’m not interested in the lower spots (being, say, the intern, the gofer, or I dunno, the receptionist).

I think that it would be awesome to work in an architectural/interior design firm environment. It would be nice to be able to contribute to projects in a meaningful way by being trained and skilled enough to do so. I just need to determine what sorts of job positions exist outside of the ones I already mentioned so I can have something to aim for and go to school for.

Any and all help I would greatly appreciate!
Thanks!

Here is a short list of office personnel in ascending order:
office gopher- run errands for office; pick up prints, etc.
receptionist- answer phones and sets appointments
interns- run errands for office, do some drawings
office business staff- accounting and assistants
recent graduates/ CAD positions- inputs drawings into CAD format
job captains- recent graduates with 2+ years of experience
project managers- candidates with 5+ years of experience
project architects- candidates with license
IT/CAD manager- controls office standards and computer systems
Office manager- manages the office
Department Directors- leads design direction
Owners/Partners
