I plan on taking fashion design at the fashion institue of technology in the year 2010. Anybody know what the home test requires so I could get a head start? or is it always different every year?
Oh and according to the site..do we have to make the outfit we drew and show them or just draw and display the fabric?
I received a home test a few years ago. They give you a scenario for you to complete the home test. Mine was: A women is going on a vacation, she needs 4-5 looks for her vacation. So you have to do sketches and include fabric swatches (the more detailed the better). I believe you also have to write a essay telling about yourself, interest, goals, achievements. etc.
This could also helo you too, http://fitnyc.edu/html/admissions/HowDoIPrepareAPortfolio/index.html
I hope this helped, its good that your getting a head start.

You’re given a doll, and you dress it up.
If you want a serious education, forget about frivolous things like Fashion.
