might want a dual core so the autocad, inventor, or whatever your using will run smoothly. however, if you plan to multitask get quad core. there are a ton of manuals online
but pretty much u need
a case
a power supply (prolly like 500 watts)
motherboard
processor (buy a mobo and cpu bundle, makes life easy)
ram
video card
dvd drive
